1. You must be 18 or over
BlackWood Protocol is an online game for adults. You must be at least 18 to register or play. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or over and agree to these terms.
The game contains fictional crime, violence and outbreak themes. Confirmed underage accounts will be closed. Tell staff privately if you believe someone is underage.
2. Your account
One player account per person unless staff have expressly agreed otherwise. Use a working email address, keep your login details secure and do not share, sell or transfer your account.
Contact staff if you think someone else has accessed your account. We will never ask for your password.
3. Fair play
- No bots, scripts, macros or other automation that plays the game for you or gives an unfair advantage.
- No farming extra accounts, exploiting bugs, duplicating items or bypassing restrictions. Report exploits privately.
- No attempts to access another account, private information or systems without permission.
- No real-money trading of accounts, virtual cash or items without our permission.
4. Other players and your content
In-game rivalry stays in the game. Do not harass, threaten, impersonate or discriminate against people, or share their personal information without permission.
No scams, spam, malicious links, illegal content or sexually explicit material. Only post or upload material you have the right to use. These rules cover callsigns, profiles, forums, messages and uploads.
You keep the rights you hold in your posts and uploads. You give us permission to store, display and moderate that content as needed to run the features you use. This does not transfer ownership of your work to us.
5. Moderation and appeals
We may remove content, reverse unfair gains, warn or mute an account, restrict features, or suspend or close an account. The response depends on the seriousness and circumstances of the breach. Urgent action may be needed to protect players or the service.
We will explain the reason where reasonably possible, unless that would expose private information, compromise security or conflict with a legal duty. You can ask for a review through our contact page.
6. Progress, changes and resets
Blackwood is still being developed. Features, balancing and availability may change. Testing, bug fixes or a planned reset may change or remove progress, ranks, inventory and virtual cash. We will give advance notice of significant planned resets where reasonably possible.
Game currency and items are fictional. They are not money, investments or a promise of real-world value, and cannot be redeemed for cash from us. A character reset is not an account-deletion request.
If paid features are introduced, prices and applicable purchase terms will be shown before purchase. Your statutory consumer rights still apply.
7. Game content and availability
The game’s protected code, writing, artwork and branding belong to their respective rights holders. Playing gives you permission to use the service for personal entertainment; it does not transfer ownership of that material.
We aim to keep Blackwood working and use reasonable care when addressing problems, but cannot promise uninterrupted access or an error-free game.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything that cannot lawfully be excluded. Your legal rights are unaffected.
8. Leaving, privacy and contact
You can stop playing at any time. Contact staff to request account closure or discuss your personal information. Our Privacy Policy explains how account information is used and your rights.
We may update these terms as the game or legal requirements change. Material changes will be brought to players’ attention, with advance notice where reasonably possible. Updates do not remove rights you already have by law.
